Artist Profile
King Junior
Award winning Elvis impersonator King Junior (a/k/a Rick Lenzi) has had countless
televised appearances and concerts worldwide.
While performing through the Elvis Network Association, in early 2002, recording
artist/producer Cary August caught a glimpse of the amazing King Junior
performing live on a nationally televised news program while sipping on his morning cappuccino.
Then the idea sparked... Cary stated, "What if we were to record an entire album
of Elvis songs remixed in today's techno, house and pop? What a great idea in order
to keep the King's music alive to our next generation!"
He immediately phoned the network television station, which then contacted the impersonator, Rick Lenzi, the same day.
Lenzi was intrigued by the idea, so together with CAPP's production team (including
Doug Laurent, Steely M., Rud-Dee, DJ Cobra, DJ
Brian Howe and De Lorean), the King's
legacy has been preserved through a series of covers, each given a unique treatment
by the remixer / producers involved.
When asked, King Junior says, "I take my job as an Elvis Entertainer very seriously,
I am just trying to do the best impersonation I can to help keep the Elvis Presley
legacy alive. Over the years he has become one of my musical idols and I just
hope that I do him justice. No one will ever replace Elvis Presley but we can
help keep his memory alive."
