Artist Profile
Cary August
CAPP Records CEO/Producer Cary August started his career as a recording artist back
in 1993 with his first self-produced
original single entitled Wish You Were Here
which achieved national
commercial radio play
through the popular Network 40
radio sampler along side notable acts Public Enemy, Warren G. and many others. Shortly thereafter,
his second dance single entitled It's Not A Dream (co-written
with hit songwriter Andre Pessis, whose credits
include Huey Lewis & the News, Bonnie Raitt, Waylon Jennings, Mr. Big, and many
more) achieved worldwide success and was released on over 30 dance compilations
in more than 20 territories worldwide.
In 2000, August signed a major label deal with EMI/Capitol Records France and released
a rare double-pack vinyl and maxi CD single entitled Get Off My Cloud which
contained over 10 exclusive remixes including remix productions by Doug Laurent,
known for his work with La Bouche and Culture Beat.
From that point on, August found himself doing something he never saw himself doing
originally—remixing
his personal favorite classic songs of the 60's, 70's &
80's, and acting as executive producer for numerous artists that appear on CAPP
Records.
